Residential Lease Agreement Indiana

Oct 4, 2021 |

Indiana Rental Lease Agreements are contracts that are used to formalize an agreement in which a lessor leases a residential property to one (1) or more persons. Agreements cover a wide range of topics that ensure that both parties are aware of what they can and cannot do for the duration of the lease. In Indiana, leases are subject to the state`s landlord-tenant laws (§§ 32-31). The lessor is required to return the deposit to the tenant within forty-five (45) days of the end of the rental period. If deductions were necessary for property damage, rent due, unpaid electricity bills, etc., the lessor must provide a broken list of sub-actions as well as the rest of the deposit (§ 32-31-3-12).
